Euskadi Industry 4.0: 50% grants for digitisation and technological equipment for SMEs

The Basque Government presents a programme of Renove Industry 4.0 grants for industrial SMEsfor design and assembly tasks, who present projects for the acquisition of machinery and/or advanced equipment that have a centre of industrial activity in the Basque Country where the advanced equipment (hardware and software) acquired is installed.

PURPOSE OF THE AID

Advanced machinery and/or equipment (hardware and software) shall be purchased in order to address projects incorporating or making use of the following technologies:

  1. Advanced Manufacturing Projects with machinery and/or advanced equipment (Hardware and Software) incorporating Big Data and Advanced Analytics techniques, allowing the processing and analysis of "big data" from different sources within industrial environments, with the aim of identifying (Business Intelligence, Data Mining...) or even predicting behavioural patterns that affect different areas and processes within these companies, thus facilitating decision-making and contributing to an improvement in their competitiveness.
  2. Additive Manufacturing Projects, that promote the flexible production/manufacturing of new parts and customised geometric shapes using various types of materials (from plastics to metals), in order to meet the needs of a specific industrial sector or company.
  3.  Advanced and Collaborative Robotics ProjectsThe company's new technologies, which incorporate connected robots that collaborate in real time with workers, other robots and even machines, thereby improving processes and increasing productivity within the plant.
  4. IIoT projects (Industrial Internet of Things), which make it possible to sensor and guarantee the internet connectivity of all types of devices and machinery within the factory, in order to be able to collect and exchange information in real time, making it possible to control, automate and greatly multiply the possibilities of use and monitoring of the connected devices or machinery.
  5. Artificial Intelligence Projects aimed at the industrial environment, where machines and/or plant equipment are able to learn and make decisions autonomously. Similarly, the incorporation of Machine Learning or Deep Learning techniques in this type of project may allow, among other things, predicting relevant behaviours or situations from the production point of view of the plant (e.g. predictive maintenance of machines), detecting objects, identifying images, or even recognising instructions, allowing the automation and expansion of knowledge about all the assets and processes in the plant, thus helping in the decision-making process of a given company.
  6. Cyber-Physical Systems Projects incorporating components, physical objects or in-plant machinery with advanced computing and connectivity capabilities, making them smart objects in the value chain of a given enterprise.
  7. Virtual Reality Projects, that allow the recreation of real situations in simulated worlds or virtual environments.
  8. Augmented Reality Projects, incorporating technologies that allow a user to visualise part of the real world through a technological device with graphical information added by this device. In this way, the real or physical information will be augmented with additional virtual information.
  9. Digital Twins projects, that generate a virtual replica of an object or system that simulates the behaviour of its real counterpart in order to monitor it in order to analyse its behaviour in certain situations and improve its efficiency. Among other advantages, it allows products to be developed and tested more cheaply and efficiently than a physical product. In addition, it allows to create infinite copies of the virtual model and test it under a multitude of scenarios.

TYPE OF EXPENDITURE

Machinery and equipment (hardware and software) to be implemented.
* The products or services described in this article which form part of the beneficiary organisation's own catalogue of products/services shall not be eligible for subsidy.

TYPE OF AID

- Non-repayable grant to 50% under the de minimis scheme.
- Minimum budget of €50,000.
- Maximum grant per application is €70,000 (ppto €140,000).
- Consultancy costs max. 25% of the budget (max. €35.000)

OTHER

1.- Applications, requirements, notifications, corrections and other formalities involved in these conditions will be carried out electronically through the SPRI - Basque Business Development Agency website.

2.- The specifications of how to process through the electronic channel, as well as the applications, responsible declarations and other models will be available in the aforementioned electronic headquarters.
