Bosonit is participated in COVIDx, accelerating COVID-19's life-saving data solutions, in a European Union innovation programme with a new 4 million fund, to bring to market +30 European data technology solutions with potential to contribute to COVID-19's challenges.
COVID-19 pandemic is hitting with force. Europe has passed the threshold of 250,000 deaths since February 2020 and there is an urgent need to find innovations that could help in different aspects of the Coronavirus outbreak. In this context, the EU-baked programme COVID-X emerged
COVID-X takes the battle against coronavirus to a new level by bridging the gap between the European digital sector and the healthcare system. The program will unlock the full capacity of Artificial Intelligence and Data Technology solutions fighting COVID-19 Challenges, validating and scaling up results to save lives. Artificial Inteligence and Data Technology solutions fighting COVID-19 Challenges, validating and scaling up results to save lives.
COVID-X will fund Technology Companies and Healthcare Providers to fast-track data-driven solutions with the capacity to overcome challenges in Diagnosis, Prognosis and Follow-up. The funding is invested in Solutions with TRL 7+ and [or in the process of] CE marking, covering two modes: single players (EU Tech SMEs / Start-Ups) validating their solutions at one of COVID-X clinical partners; or multiplayers (Tech Provider working with a Healthcare provider that will validate the solution). Moreover, the selected projects will follow an Acceleration Program offering technical support, ethical advice and business mentoring, which will boost their quick market uptake.
Within the COVID-X acceleration process, the role of Bosonit acquires great relevance. Among many other activities, we will be leading the planning and execution of the programme, in collaboration with the consortium partners, and we will provide a full capacity building programme oriented to cutting-edge data related technologies, that includes tech-courses and mentoring services to the selected solutions.
To that aim, the program will call for technology companies and healthcare providers by launching 2 Open Calls. The first Open Call will be launched in early December with a deadline at the end of January 2021.
COVID-X involves a consortium of 10 prominent partners from 7 different countries: F6S (Ireland), Australo (Spain), Civitta (Lithuania), Bosonit (Spain), Intrasoft International
(Luxembourg), Eight Bells (Cyprus), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), Humanitas Research Hospital (Italy), Servicio Madrileño de Salud (Spain), and Karolinska institute (Sweden).
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020
research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101016065
