New pilot projects for Industry 4.0.

It is clear that the 4.0 revolution in industry is here to stay. The data technologiesThe new technologies, in conjunction with others such as the digital twin or robotics, will make the industry a highly efficient environment, ready for the new trends in agile production.

In this context, Bosonit has great news. We have recently closed two pilot projects within the scope of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) or Digital Innovation Centres (CID).

Riogistics, an industrial innovation project

The first of the pilot projects, called Riogistics, will consist of the integration of digital twin technologies in the plant. EMKA Sealing Systems of ArnedoLa Rioja. The aim will be to simulate internal plant transport tasks with autonomous robots (CMR - Collaborative Mobile Robots) for the efficiency of this industry. We have the support of the Horizon 2020 L4MS initiative, which will finance the pilot. We will also collaborate with the EMKA plant team, as well as with the company ROBOTNIKas a specialist in robotics solutions for industry.

Selected for European Industry 4.0 initiatives

On the other hand, we have also been selected to implement another pilot application within the framework of the European IHL2 initiative. In this case, the pilot is carried out in collaboration with the company Xima Plastics in Peralta, Navarra. The aim of the pilot project will be to implement a system to prevent blockages in plastic moulds during the injection process.

This will be possible thanks to the extraction of data from sensors, plastic injection moulding machines and handling robots in the plant. Thanks to this data we will be able to automate the calculation of the OEE or ETE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) which measures injection efficiency and at the same time prevents plastic clogging in the moulds, which is a common problem in this type of industrial process.

The pilots, under the umbrella of two of the largest industrial initiatives in the field of IHL, represent a great leap forward in our positioning as a benchmark entity in digitisation solutions for Industry 4.0 at European level.

In addition, the solution is based on FIWARE technology, a free-software platform that is a benchmark in the development of intelligent applications, on which Bosonit has been working for several years.

Both pilots receive funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and development programme under contract number 767642 (L4MS) y 824964 (IHL2)
